Iconic 'Star Wars' Stormtrooper Helmet Gets Elaborate, Artistic Makeovers

The Stormtrooper helmet is definitely one of the most recognizable symbols of Star Wars—for a new exhibition titled “Art Wars”, various artists have given this iconic headgear elaborate and eye-catching makeovers.

Featuring artists such as Damien Hirst, David Bailey and Mr Brainwash, this exhibition—part of the STRARTA art fair—saw the helmet being re-imagined in many fascinating ways.

Other than being painted over in a feminine floral pattern and getting decked out in shiny diamantes, it has also been transformed into a spray can that pays tribute to Andy Warhol’s famous Campbell soup can.

The exhibition will run from 9 to 13 October 2013 at London’s Saatchi Gallery—it will also be featured on billboard spaces at the Regent’s Park Tube station, where users would be able to explore the artworks in 3D on their phones via a special app.
