In Tourism Campaign, You Get To ‘Control’ Visitors With Social Media

A collaboration between Clemenger BBDO and Tourism Victoria, this unique campaign allows would-be tourists to direct two volunteer visitors to experience Melbourne for them.



Called “The Melbourne Remote Control Tourist”, participants are invited to go to the website Remote Control Tourist to request what they would like these volunteer tourists to do with the hastag “#MelbourneRCT”.



From 9 to 13 October 2013, these “Remote Control Tourists” will be connected to helmet-mounted cameras, microphones, and a GPS, streaming the tourists fulfilling these requests in real time.



In this way, people can “experience” Melbourne before deciding if they should go, bringing a destination to our doorsteps.
