Lexus Unveils A One-Of-A-Kind Car That Sketches Your Portrait As You Drive

Lexus has given one lucky driver in Belgium a one-of-a-kind car that sketches your portrait in real-time as you drive.

The IS 300h hybrid vehicle has a screen that uses special software developed for the Art is Motion project that measures the driver’s driving style, such as the ratio of hybrid and fuel use, and speed and acceleration styles, and converts that data into digital brush strokes to generate portraits.

If art collector Walter Vanhaerent accelerates quickly, his portrait will be rendered in bold, red abstract strokes; while a slower drive will result in a more detailed portrait with cool, blue tones.

The feature was created by Belgian agency Happiness Brussels as a marketing experiment, and the results will be displayed on Artismotion.com. It also contains recreations of Vanhaerent’s past drives, giving viewers an idea of how he drove on a particular day, as well as interviews where he discusses his approach to collecting art.

Interested in owning this unique vehicle? You can bid for it on the site, and your bid will be registered to any auction of the car in the future.
