Touching Photographs Of A Man Looking After Abandoned Animals In Fukushima

Photographer Damir Sagolj has taken pictures of Keigo Sakamoto looking after animals in Naranha mountain range in Fukushima.

A former caregiver, Sakamoto refused to leave the area after the 2011 earthquake, choosing to take care of the 500 animals that were abandoned by their owners while evacuating the place.

Although only two of his 21 dogs are friendly—Sakamoto has been bitten by one—this altruistic man still provides for them the best he can.
