Toronto agency Zulu Alpha Kilo has created an app that helps parents prove to their children that Santa is real.
The Kringl app creates realistic video footage of a home visit by Santa with just a few clicks. It includes five pre-recorded scenes of Santa carrying out his usual home visit activities like eating cookies, drinking milk, and checking his list. Combined with footage of your home, the resulting video looks as if Santa really did visit and leave presents.
The app is part of Zulu Alpha Kilo’s yearly tradition to do something with a positive social impact. Aside from being creative, there is a charitable side to Kringl—it has an option for people to donate to Make-a-Wish Canada to benefit children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Zak Mroueh, Chief Creative Officer and CEO of Zulu Alpha Kilo, says, “We partnered with Make-a-Wish Canada because the idea of granting wishes and the magic of Santa seemed like the perfect fit.”
Mroueh has the following tips for creating your Santa film. As the app is designed to work in dim lighting, it is best to shoot in low light. It also helps to place your camera on a stable surface and to have Santa’s feet on a darkly lit floor instead of a white carpet.
