Stylish Fusion Branding For A Swedish Restaurant Serving Chinese Food

Many Chinese food restaurants in the US and Europe are plagued with kitschy stereotypes and bad—if not non-existent—branding.

Considering this, Stockholm-based dumplings and tea restaurant Beijing8 is a breath of fresh air with its stylish and tasteful branding that blends the company’s Scandinavian roots with the ancient traditions of Chinese cuisine.

No tacky takeaway box in sight, the packaging and interior décor of the restaurant is marked by an elegant simplicity and a restrained but effective use of bright colors.

Using recycled materials to support its sustainability philosophy, the restaurant products and corporate materials are marked by clean, fuss-free typography.

A fun aspect of this eye-pleasing identity is how the staff T-shirts are changed each year to reflect the Chinese zodiac—as would be expected, the graphic on the T-shirt is also rendered in a minimalist style.

What do you think of this unconventional Chinese food restaurant?
