Artist Turns Her Small Studio Space Into Elaborate Surreal Scenes

Last Supper

Instead of being confined by her small studio, Korean artist JeeYoung Lee lets her imagination run wild in it.

Within her 11.8- x 13.5- x 7.8-foot studio, she builds beautiful and elaborate scenes inspired by her personal life or old Korean fables, each with their own backstory.

Made without the use of photo manipulation, some of these dream-like sets take weeks, sometimes months, to be completed by Lee for the sake of taking a single image.

Set up by Lee herself, most of her scenes feature several “handmade props, suspended objects, and unique lighting requirements”.
