Chicago-born Kyle Thompson was a shy young man with an interest in photography—he shot to internet stardom after the pictures he uploaded onto Reddit went viral with more than four million views.
Specialising in surrealist self-portraits, his work seems to serve as a portal to an alternative universe where he is able to emerge from a puddle and set his masked head on fire.
Shooting with a Canon 60D, a 50mm 1.8 lens, a tripod and a timer, Thompson proves that a wild imagination and a lot of practise can go a long way.
