Stan Lee Introduces Indian Superhero ‘Chakra’ To The World

This year, more ethnic diversity was introduced into the comic book world with a recently-unveiled Muslim girl superhero. It looks like Stan Lee himself is also contributing to this with ‘Chakra’, a 14-year-old superhero with the ingenuity of Tony Stark.

Chakra, whose real name is Raju Rai, hails from Mumbai. Gifted with technological know-how, he is given a special suit by his scientist mentor.

The teenager dons the suit and becomes a hero as it activates his life forces, which are known as chakras in Hinduism, giving him the ability to fight crime.

Fans can download his adventures on web and mobile apps. A 66-minute-long cartoon, Chakra: The Invincible premiered on India’s Cartoon Network as well.

Chakra comics will be released in India this month and in the US next spring, and animated spin-offs will take place on Toons TV.

Lee, who collaborated with Graphic India and illustrator Jeevan J Kang, believes that this boy hero will be able to be bigger than Spider Man.

There are also plans for a full-length feature film should the hero become popular, and hopefully, there is more than enough room in comics for this awesome young hero.
