Adventure photographer and artist Chris Burkard names the ocean as his main muse, and his work revolves around oceanic landscapes. For his recent project with ‘Goal Zero’, he explored the breathtaking Icelandic terrain.

Burkard and his team chased waves around the island, noting down weather patterns and driving hours and hours to search for the perfect spot. It was all worth it—he captured the immaculate beauty of Iceland and its surf spots, fog banks and waterfalls in a series of stunning photographs.

“We surfed beach breaks with hundred foot spires stemming out of the ocean; glacial fed river mouths depositing icebergs upon icebergs on the beach in front of perfect peeling a-frames; and right points breaking over volcanic rock-reef,” he says of his adventure.
