Industrial designer and orthopedic surgeon Scott Summit of Bespoke Innovations has created a range of stylish and artistically designed prosthetic legs that are meant to be flaunted instead of hidden.
Based on a 3D scanning of the existing leg, he builds a matching prosthetic from the digitally generated model—the customer can customize their new limb by choosing from different designs, patterns, materials and finishes.
Motivated by the ideas that “every body is different” and that “humans are anything but one-size-fits-all”, Summit wanted to bring out unique personality of each unique prosthetic wearer—the personalised products would also better fit the very diverse lifestyles of the various customers.
These functional works of art cost between US$4,000 and US$6,000—find out more about Bespoke Innovations on its website.
