UK agency The Quiet Room has come up with a humorous project that imagines Santa Claus as a modern day concept created by marketing and branding personnel.
’The Santa Brand Book’ is a hilarious spoof that mocks the silly branding strategies of today with biting humor and sarcasm. Replete with terms like ‘registered trademark’, ‘brand assets’, and other marketing jargon, the at-once familiar and exaggerated examples will make any marketing executive nod their head in agreement.
Consider the following mission statement, “*Santa* is a Concept, not an idea. It’s an Emotion, not a feeling. It’s both Yesterday and Today. And it’s Tomorrow as well”, crafted to appear deep and thoughtful but which is absolutely meaningless. Other tongue-bitingly funny examples include a XMAS acronym stating what Santa stands for, the placement of snowflake-like asterisks before and after ‘Santa’, and an official color palette of Pantone Red 032c.
