Visually Arresting Pasta Constructions Pay Homage To Italian Architecture

London-based set designer Gemma Tickle and photographer Aaron Tilley have collaborated to create a beautiful photo series of visually arresting pasta constructions that pays homage to Italian architecture.

‘Tradizione, Costruzione’, which means ‘Tradition, Construction’ in Italian, comprises five different settings made of five different types of pasta. Neatly arranged rigatoni form a herringbone-style floor, clusters of spaghetti are stacked to make a staircase, flat sheets of lasagna form a tiled roof, a Roman column rises from tubes of cylindrical candele pasta, and hundreds of hanging black-sepia spaghetti create a striking curtain.

With their structural features and decorative elements, the pieces are a gorgeous sight and reflect the beauty of both Italian cuisine and architecture.

The photo spread was featured in the latest issue of British food and culture journal The Gourmand.
