Bathers Create Wacky Instant Frozen Hairdos From Hot Springs For A Hair Contest

Every February, the Takhini Hot Pools in Whitehorse, Yukon, will hold an annual ‘Hair Freezing Contest’, with bathers posting hilarious photos of themselves sporting wacky frozen hairstyles.

The Canadian natural hot springs have a temperature of about 116.6° Fahrenheit, a stark contrast to the freezing cold temperatures of the Yukon winter.

The wide difference in temperature creates the perfect opportunity for instant frozen hairdos—along with frozen eyebrows and beards—by going underwater and quickly rising back up to the surface.

Hit play on the video to see the winners of the hair freezing contest.
