Today’s daily inspiration takes a look at the work environment. Perhaps the most vibrant and scenic workplaces in the world today belongs to Google.
From offices in Nairobi to Copenhagen to Mumbai, Google’s office concept is a representation of their playful DNA infused with functional efficiency around a central theme, typically a keyword.
Our focus is on Google’s Hungarian office located in Budapest. The keyword ‘SPA’ was chosen to highlight the country’s bath culture and the existence of hundreds of thermal springs in the capital city. The “City of spas” currently has many modern, as well as traditional bath houses that lingered on after the Roman Empire and Turkish occupation.
In conceptualizing the spaces within the office, Google also wanted to feature Hungary’s pride for their distinction in water polo. Having achieved gold medals in championship tournaments including the Olympics, few rooms were dedicated to this concept.
