Fun, Vibrant Mosaic Portraits Of Superheroes Made From Shattered Tiles

Based in New York and Vancouver, artist Jason Dussault makes amazing mosaic portraits of superheroes and other pop culture characters using shattered pieces of tile and grout, with paint, resin and vinyl.

This series, titled “Deconstructive/Constructive” is inspired by the artist's love for the comic books that he read while he was growing up.

Well-known superheroes like Superman, Thor as well as LEGO versions of Batman and Joker feature in his mosaic portraits. His large scale tribute to George Delmerico's iconic superhero amalgamation, “A Marvel-ous Evening with Stan Lee, 1972”, is truly impressive, as it is a composite image that features 19 famous Marvel characters.

Dussault is showing his work at the Hoerle-Guggenheim Gallery in New York. You can view more of his work at his website.
