All her life, Ellen Jewett, from Ontario, Canada, has been in love with sculpting.
For her, “sculpting has always been about life; biological narratives, emotions, movement, balance and observations about life's subtleties and overtures”.
Jewett has been creating these fantastical masterpieces since 2007, when she graduated with a degree in Biological Anthropology and Fine Art.
The sculptures are otherworldly in nature, and her imaginative creations bring to mind creatures from ‘Princess Mononoke’ and ‘Pokemon’.
Made from clay, and sculpted over a handmade metal frame, the sculptures are then painted with acrylic or oil paints.
