Surreal Double Exposure Shots That Are Part London, Part New York City

When she moved from New York City to London last year, photojournalist Daniella Zalcman decided to start a photo series on her Instagram account that would bring the two cities together visually—collectively, they “represent her vision of home”.

The ‘New York + London’ project is a collection of double-exposure photographs, with each shot consisting of a picture of New York layered with another of London—the result is a surreal blending of unique elements from each place.

“Each pair of photos was selected based on negative space, color, and contrast—but for every composite that you see, I had to go through at least a dozen versions before finding the perfect combination.”

All of the pictures were shot and edited entirely on the photographer’s iPhone 4S, a process that she finds to be very liberating.

The New York + London photographs can be found on Zalcman’s Instagram—limited edition books and prints of the project are also currently available on Kickstarter.
