Surreal Photos Created By Projecting Stunning Outdoor Views Onto Rooms’ Walls

Based in the U.S.A, Abelardo Morell started his photo project “Camera Obscura” in 1991 by projecting the view outside onto the walls of his living room.

22 years later, he has gone on to photograph rooms all around the world, using this unusual camera obscura method.

He achieves such fascinating images by covering all the windows of the room with black plastic—a tear is then made in one of the plastic sheets to let in an inverted image that would be displayed on the wall.

These days, the photographer uses color film to push his project further—other enhancements include using a prism to project an upright image and placing his lens above the hole in the plastic to get a crisper image.
