Incredibly Intricate Newspaper Cuttings That Look Like Embroidered Lace

Canadian artist Myriam Dion shows that yesterday’s news need not be chucked away just yet, by transforming them into stunning pieces of art.

Using old newspapers, a cutter, and a nimble pair of hands, she creates intricate filigrees by cutting tiny shapes into newspapers.

On close up, the lacerations are truly exquisite. What’s unbelievable is that the artist does these cuttings with her own hands, and not with a machine.

Dion is creative with her cutouts, playing with the images and wordings on the newspapers to craft each one into a lovely vignette.
