In 2010, 33 miners were trapped underground for 69 days in a collapsed mine in Chile. Thankfully, they all survived ‘death’ and were successfully rescued.
However, in the upcoming World Cup, the Chileans will once again face ‘death’—the “Group of Death”, where the national soccer team will face 2010 World Cup winners Spain, runners-up the Netherlands and Australia.
To lend support to their national team, the survivors have returned to star in an uplifting ad for Banco de Chile.
Delivering an inspiring speech, Mario Sepulved, one of the miners shouts, “Spain is tough? Netherlands is tough? We don't fear the Group of Death. We don't care about death. We defeated death before!”
Powerful and inspiring, this is probably one of the best World Cup ads in 2014. What do you think?
