Design Studio Constructs A House That Is Completely Made From Waste Materials

In collaboration with the University of Brighton, design studio BBM has created ‘The Brighton Waste House’ located at the college’s campus.

It is the first permanent house in UK to be created out of discarded materials gathered from different places.

To create the house, they used re-purposed wood and timber to construct the structure and furnished it with an estimated 20,000 toothbrushes, 2 tonnes of denim jeans, 4,000 DVD cases, 2,000 floppy discs and 2,000 used carpet tiles.

The house will be used as a research and design workshop focused on sustainable development.

According to the project’s description on the website, “one of the main aims of the project was to prove that there is no such thing and waste, just stuff in the wrong place”.
