British travel company owner Lee Thompson has taken the ‘world’s most epic selfie’ from the top of the Christ The Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Thanks to his occupation, Thompson was able to wrangle special permission from the Brazilian Tourism Board to access the top of the statue through a set of access steps on the inside.

It took the 31-year-old nearly half an hour to reach the top of the 124-foot-high statue, which had been under repair after a lightning strike at the time.

The feeling of exhilaration he felt at the end made the hot and claustrophobic climb worthwhile. “When I popped my head out of the top it took my breath away. The view really was incredible. It is the most fun selfie I’ve taken and one of my favorite photos.”

Check out more pictures of Thompson’s amazing selfie below.
