Pictoplasma is an annual five-day festival held in Berlin. This year, it invited international artists to submit a design based on the theme ‘Character Portraits in the Postdigital Age’.
Over 2,500 entries were received from artists all over the world with their own creative portraiture. Selected pieces were exhibited at the gallery as part of the festival celebrations.
Through this event, Pictoplasma hopes the artists can “explore the current status of contemporary character exhibitionism”.
All kinds of characters were portrayed in various attempts to take a selfie. For example, there is a funny drawing of Pinocchio conveniently using his nose to take a selfie, and a fox posing for a selfie like a total pro.
