Italian designer Lorenzo Bricola created a tongue-in-cheek series of illustrations, featuring four 25 x 20 cm etchings of an iPhone dissection.
In his series called 'TECHNOTOMIE', Bricola “dissects” the smartphone, stripping its hard exterior to reveal an little seen interior of “ribs”, “brains” and “eyes”.
The idea of dissections may seem gross, but Bricola balanced his dark monochrome illustrations against brightly colored backgrounds to create some striking visuals.
Bricola also furnished his work with scientific-looking labels and captions, similar to how human dissections are studied and presented.
