Photographer Captures The Claustrophobic Beauty Of Apartment Blocks In Hong Kong

Like German photographer Michael Wolf’s photographs of Hong Kong’s overwhelming urban density, Munich-born compatriot Manuel Irritier showcases the claustrophobic beauty of the city’s apartment blocks in his series ‘Urban Barcode’.

Described by Irritier as an “anonymous mass”, they feature countless housing units stacked on top of one another, from which symmetrical patterns emerge.
