Creative Letterpress Studio Writes Witty Complaint Letter About The Internet

Judging from its latest promotional materials, Ohio-based letterpress company Cranky Pressman—“not some cute boutique”, but offers “full letterpress production for creative professionals”—certainly has a wicked sense of humor.

To show that print is not only still relevant, but better than digital online communication, the fictional “Mr. C.P. Pressman” of the studio decided to write a strongly worded complaint letter, which was send out to top graphic design industry professionals, that makes clear exactly what he thinks about the internet—in short, not very much.

The funny letter is a great satirical piece that criticizes the glaring inadequacies of the internet and digital culture when applied in graphic design—according to Mr. Pressman, “nowadays all the pixelated hogwash can make an agency’s entire output look like one big Atari game from start through finished production”.

At the same time, he also waxed lyrical about the merits of print, saying how “a well executed poster, brochure, broadside or business card speaks volumes about the character of the person or establishment from which it originates”.
