Spurred by the lack of suitable emojis for introverts and by a break-up, designer Rebecca Evie Lynch decided to create her own set of emojis.
Designed for people who “need more time and space”, ‘Introji’ contains over 30 emojis that communicate activities like reading, gaming and staying home. It also includes icons for distress calls.
Non-introverts who wish to talk to introverts haven’t been forgotten. “Introverts tend to find the company of others draining. But communication isn’t a one-way street. I want my system to be sympathetic to the other person in the equation,” said Lynch.
Her system is devised in such a way that non-introverts can use “no company” icons to communicate their thoughts, making it clear to introverts about their intentions.
Currently, ‘Introji’ remains a prototype but Lynch hopes to turn it into a free app after gathering feedback and suggestions.
