This series by artist Lauren Marx can be somewhat disturbing and grotesque.
Her illustrations feature animals in a state of atrophy and decay, which she hopes to portray as "god-like representations of galaxies, nebulae" and where "the birds represent stars and space debris formed by the Universe".
Marx's end product is a world in flux with the animals depicting a "degeneration that gives way to a grotesque kind of growth".
