The Evolution Of Color Palettes Used On Valentine’s Day Cards Over The Years

After going through a century of Hallmark Valentine’s Day cards, Brandisty has put together an interesting collection of color palettes, to show how the colors used had changed over the decade.

While red remained a constant throughout the decades, the colors interestingly evolved from darker tones from the 1950’s, to muted colors in the 1990’s, and a more vibrant palette in the recent years.

Hop on over here to see the full collection of palettes.

1950’s, Hallmark and American Greetings returned to producing light-hearted Valentine’s Day cards.

1960’s, this palette is one of the darkest, yet still more vibrant as compared to the earlier decades.

1990’s, the palette is understandably muted and withdrawn.

2010’s, a brighter more vibrant palette.
