Amazingly Intricate Stain Glass Windows Made From Colored Paper

Virginia-based American paper artist Eric Standley creates beautiful sculptures of stain glass windows with just pieces of colored paper.

The artist first laser-cuts the individual pieces of paper into intricate patterns before stacking them up to create one of his sculptures—using the interplay of positive and negative spaces, the resulting artwork has a mesmerizing depth and complexity.

Every bit as fascinating as traditional stain glass windows, these impressive paper sculptures brings to mind the stunning windows of famous buildings such as the Northern Rose window of France’s Chartres Cathedral.
