Edmonton-based Canadian mother Brigid Burton came up with an ingenious way to keep her daughter’s New Zealander boyfriend busy during his visit to the Great White North—build a gorgeous igloo out of multi-colored ice bricks.
After filling up paper cartons with colored water and leaving them out in the -25 °F (-31 °C) freezing cold, Burton managed to stockpile enough ice bricks to construct this extraordinary igloo.
Taking up the challenge readily, Daniel Gray—the visiting boyfriend—spent more than 150 hours fitting the 500 ice bricks into place, with the help of family and neighbors.
