Director Wes Anderson’s newest film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, is set to be released on DVD and Blue-ray 17 June 2014—to celebrate this launch, LEGO master builder Ryan Ziegelbauer and his team have created a model of the fictional hotel with LEGO bricks.
The result of this delightful project is an incredibly accurate, scaled down version of the “illustrious hotel”—actor Tony Revolori, who played the character of Zero in the movie, also chipped in to construct it.
The creators of this wonderful replica spent about 575 hours designing and building it, using more than 50,000 certified LEGO bricks in the process—the finished model weighs in at about 150 pounds and measures 7 x 6.5 feet.
Watch the video below for behind-the-scenes footages that show how this model was pieced together.
