Fascinating Portraits Of People Who Reject The Modern World For The Wilderness

French photographer Antoine Bruy’s ‘Scrublands’ series is a fascinating look at people who have abandoned civilization to live in the wilderness.

Bruy documented these communities from 2010 to 2013 while hitchhiking through Europe, encountering individuals who rejected the comforts of the modern world to embrace a spartan, self-sufficient existence in the great outdoors.

The photographer intends to continue his series in the US next year.
