Artist Recreates ‘Mona Lisa’, Other Classic Paintings, With PANTONE Swatches

Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol

We have previously featured several imaginative recreations of famous paintings made with random items, such as plasticine, food, and even office supplies.

Here’s another impressive attempt, done by artist Nick Smith, that features the clever use of hundreds of colorful PANTONE swatches.

Smith used these swatches to produce impressive pixelated recreations of paintings made by legendary artists, such as Vincent van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci and Andy Warhol.

Smith’s artworks are currently featured at his art show, Psycolourgy, held at the Lawrence Alkin Gallery in London until 21 February 2015.
