Watch: How The Extremely Long Shots In ‘Birdman’ Are Made

You should already know that Birdman did very well at the recent Oscars—but do you know how the really long shots in it are made?



Film studio Fox Searchlight recently released a short video that shows exactly how one of these “ridiculously long” takes were made—according to director Alejandro González Iñárritu, “everything was absolutely meticulously prepared” in order to make them possible.



The movie was made to look like one continuous shot—while clever camera tricks were used for some parts of it, others did actually composed of extremely long takes that are recorded with hand-held cameras.
