California-based music company, Voyage Air , has designed a series of guitars that are foldable at the base of the neck—making it ideal for the travelling musician.
The guitars are equipped with a screw and hinges which allows it to fold forward at the neck.
The foldable guitars are available in acoustic and electric versions and they come with a specially designed lightweight travel case to store the guitar.
According to their website, they claim that their guitars are suitable for travels across air, sea and even hiking and camping trips.
Voyage-air guitars qualify as carry-on luggage and will fit in the overhead compartments of commercial airliners; meaning musicians would not have to worry about their guitars being damaged in the cargo hold.
The acoustic guitars can be purchased at USD$399 to $1,695 each depending on the model of the guitar, while the electric guitars can be purchased at USD$799 each.
