The Most Expensive Pet Wedding

Last Thursday, two dogs tied the knot in NYC, as a fundraiser for humane society.

The wedding, ‘puptials’—between the groom, a tie-dyed poodle ‘Chilly Pasternak’, and Coton de Tulear named ‘Baby Hope Diamond’—was attended by 250 guests with dressed-up doggy dates.

The holy ‘muttrimony’—held at Jumeirah Essex House—cost a total of US$250,000, and broke the Guinness World Record for “Most Expensive Pet Wedding”.

Animal-loving vendors donated to the event to raise awareness for homeless or unwanted animals—Floralia Decorators draped the location with US$30,000 worth of fuchsia orchids; James Chung rolled out US$5,000 worth of sushi; and TLC’s reality show ‘Cake Boss’ presented a white 5-tiered wedding cake.

Baby Hope’s gown was designed by wedding dress designer Henry Roth, and is reported to cost US$6,000.

The bride’s mother/owner, Wendy Diamond, told NY Daily News, “They’re committing to raising awareness for homeless animals so that we can stop unwanted pets from being euthanized”.
