200 Unseen Andy Warhol Drawings Released In New Book

Art dealer Daniel Blau has published a book that contains 200 unseen early drawings by iconic ‘pop art’ artist, Andy Warhol.

The book ‘From Silverpoint to Silverscreen’ features 200 drawings done by Warhol during the 1950s and they all differ from the brightly colored prints that made Warhol famous.

“You think you know an artist and then he does something unexpected,” said Blau. “The drawings have given Warhol roots.”

“These early works put his other work in relation. The drawings give Warhol this earthly appearance; he wasn’t a deity, he had to work hard to get where he did like any other artist.”

According to Blau, he said that he discovered the drawings in the archives the Andy Warhol foundation in New York.

From Silverpoint to Silverscreen is available on Amazon at US$32.64
