A whimsical children’s story—titled The Cats of Copenhagen—written by the legendary James Joyce was recently uncovered and posthumously released as a charming picture book.
The never-before-published tale is based on a letter the famous author wrote to his grandson Stephen in 1936 when he was in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Revolving around the lack of cats in the Danish capital city during that time, the short story provides lovers of Joyce’s adult novels with a fresh perspective of the writer, who is known for the brilliant but heavy Ulysses.
