Print Campaign Aims To Diminish Typical Latin Stereotypes

Image site Latinstock has created a new print campaign that aims to diminish typical Latin stereotypes.

Developed by ad agency Y&R Ecauador, each print ad features a small image of a Latin person performing a seemingly harmless task—such as watering a plant, mowing the lawn or reading a newspaper.

The rest of the ad features a body of text that points out how a “white man” doing such activities might be perceived as normal—like being an ecologist, a retiree or an investor—while a Latin man might be mistaken for a pot dealer, an immigrant or an employed person.

A tagline next to the image highlights the company’s stand on the issue: “We have a better image for Latin people”.
