Famous Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has created a new, massive installation as part of its exhibition at Galleria Continua in Tuscany, Italy that is constructed of 760 bicycles.
Similar to his 2011 piece “Forever Bicycles”, this latest creation—entitled “Stacked”—is a maze-like structure that the visitor can explore from within.
Rather than simply stacked on top of one another, the bicycles have actually been physically attached together, resulting in a solid, cohesive whole of enthralling, repeating forms.
Consisting of several sculptures, photographs and videos by the activist artist, the exhibition will run until 16 February 2013—you can view more pictures of it over here.
