Amazing Installation Made Of 60 000 Coffee Stirrers

North-Carolina based artist Jonathan Brilliant has turned to common use of coffee stirrers into an artful installation.

Called ‘The Sumter Piece’, the installation is made of 60 000 coffee stirrers woven together.

The artwork expands over to two floors whereby it suspends from the ceiling of the first floor and reaches the second floor, surrounding around the illuminated chandelier.

Amazingly with no additional tool used, it took 14 days to weave and install the artwork on site.

“No adhesive was used and the entire structure holds itself in place because of the tensile strength of 7” rounded end wooden coffee stirrers. After nearly six months the piece eventually separated and the materials were donated to a local school,” said Brilliant.
