Seattle-based artist Wednesday Wolf applies his signature watercolour techniques to disfigure various pop culture icons.
These characters are illustrated in a weakened and decayed manner—reducing muscular, happy and charismatic looks to faint limbs and ghoulish anatomies.
His illustrations include Yoda, Megaman, Mario, Luigi, Hulk, Spiderman and Hobbes.
The idea of de-glamorizing the characters is to portray the view on not taking one’s self too seriously.
Wednesday Wolf’s explicit illustrations strip away the ego of these characters, in order to reveal an admirable view of being genuine.
