Astoundingly Vivid ‘Paintings’ Made Of Colorful Pencils

Instead of using pencils to draw like they are made to do, Miami-based conceptual artist Federico Uribe has used these humble tools to create stunningly expressive picture collages.

Inspired by his “dark reflections on the Catholic sense of pain, guilt and sexuality”, the artist often depicts awkward everyday scenes or acts of violence in his works.

Making use of both the sharp and blunt ends of colorful pencils, the artist is able to create bright and vivid images that tell intriguing stories.
