Psy’s “Gangnam Style” has taken the world by storm—which led Russian company Woobo International to file a trademark for a Gangnam Style vodka drink in the US and Russia.
According to the Huffington Post, the company registered the trademark with the US Patent & Trademark Office on 26 September under three categories: action figures, vegetable-based snack foods and alcoholic beverages.
Although Psy’s record label, YG Entertainment, had already filed trademark for the phrase in both Russia and the US, they failed to include beverages into the list of applicable categories.
Woobo International is currently waiting for Psy’s approval before producing the ‘Gangnam Style’-flavored vodka.
