Madrid-based artist Alicia Martin collects unwanted books and gives them new life in her amazing sculptures.
From comic books, to novels and encyclopedias, Martin constructed a waterfall of books, spewing out from one of the front windows of The Hague’s Museum Meermanno (House of the Books) in Netherlands.
The surreal scene of reused old books was aimed to capture the attention of passers-by—and they were allowed to take any book they wanted from the sculpture, or draw and write on them.
At the bottom of the sculpture, there was also a fence broken in the middle—to portray the weight of the many unwanted tomes.
