NYC’s Stray Cats Get Architect-Designed Homes

For the third consecutive year, Architects for Animals has teamed up with NYC Feral Cat Initiative and several top architectural firms in New York, to help the city’s homeless cats and design and built shelters for them.

Called ‘Giving Shelter’, the project aims to provide refuge to thousands of felines that live on the streets throughout the city—to help them keep warm especially during winter.

Most of these humble abodes—that would be donated to the outdoor animals—are art pieces themselves, made from recycled materials.

This year’s collection of designer winter cat shelters would be revealed tomorrow, 10 January 2013—and be available for public viewing before being placed in various locations throughout the city for the comfort of the cats.
