To prevent drunk-driving, dance club Zouk in Singapore has installed a high-tech urinal that will be able to detect if the user has had a drink too many.
In collaboration with marketing agency DDB, it has developed a “unique gadget that could, for the first time, detect alcohol in urine”, which has been simply named “The Pee Analyser”.
Club-goers who drive would receive a RFID parking pass when they drop their cars off at the valet—after determining if the user is fit to drive after he has used the bathroom, the Pee Analyser will store the relevant information in the RFID pass.
When picking up their cars, the RFID cards would be scanned by the valet—those who have consumed too much alcohol would be asked to take a cab or use the club’s drive-home service.
While the Pee Analyser has been very successful during its two-weeks trial, we do wonder if the club is planning on doing something similar about female club-goers who drive.
