These breathtaking, pre-historic looking vistas were created by New York-based artist Kim Keever.
Instead of just going out to photograph nature, Keever painstakingly constructs each landscape model by hand.
He then places each model in front of or behind a six-foot long, glass tank filled with 200 gallons of water. Using the tank as a backdrop, he injects paint into the water, creating a spectacular atmosphere of clouds and colors for his dioramas.
Said Keever of his alien landscapes, “'I use whatever materials I can find on the street, in stores and on the internet that might add to a perception of reality that is not quite what it seems. It is my intention to present the landscape as beauty itself, without reference to man and industry.”
